24th Annual KINROSS Fort Knox Town Race Series’ Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Ski-Cross this Weekend

The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is pleased to announce the fourth and final race in the 24th Annual KINROSS Fort Knox Town Race Series, the Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks Ski-Cross, will be held Sunday, March 1st, at Noon at the Jim Whisenhant Ski Trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area. The KINROSS Fort Knox Town Race Series provides a competitive forum for skiers of all ages beginning with preschoolers.

Racing begins at Noon in free technique with all classes racing in ski-cross format. Distances will be: 1000m for high school age and adult skiers, 800m for Grade 7-8, 600m for Grade 5-8, The competition will start with the older skiers on the longer courses, then move through progressively shorter distances for the younger classes.

Jr. Nordic skiers will have a chance to ski the course free with their groups on Sunday if they would like a chance to try the Ski-cross course.

The entry fee for adults is $10 for members of the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, and $15 for non-members. Race entries close at 9:00pm February 28, 2020. There will be no late entries or race day entries. Bib Pick-up will be at Noon on Sunday, March 1st inside the log cabin, Rikke’s Roadhouse.

Due to technical difficulties with rescheduling the event, this Town Series Race #4 will limit the competition heats to High School/Open; Grade 5-8/Junior High.  Junior Nordics will have the opportunity to ski the course at 2pm following the final heats with their color groups..
