Registration

  • For people ages 15 & up who have never skied before.
  • For people with very little experience skiing. No formal training and/or only skied a handful of times.

NSCF Adult Lessons

What: Adult Cross Country Skiing Lessons
Who: Anyone ages 15 & Up. All abilities are welcome.
Where
: Birch Hill Recreation Area, 101 Wilderness Drive, Fairbanks 99712
When: Lessons run November 18 to December 16 (4 weeks).

Session I Class Schedule:

All classes take place at Birch Hill.
Classes are one hour in length and run for four weeks.
Novice Classic Skiing- 12:30pm Sundays | Class begins Nov. 21
For people who have never skied before.

Beginning Classic Skiing-
2:00pm Sundays | Class begins Nov. 21
For people with very little experience skiing. No formal training and/or only skied a handful of times.

Beginning Classic Skiing- 6:00PM Tuesdays| Class begins Nov. 23
For people with very little experience skiing. No formal training and/or only skied a handful of times.

Intermediate Classic Skiing-
6:00PM Wednesdays | Class Nov. 24
For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).


Beginning Skate Skiing-
6:00PM Thursdays | Class begins  Nov. 18*
For people with very little experience skiing. No formal training and/or only skied a handful of times. It is recommended that you take beginning classic skiing before learning to skate ski.*No lessons on Thanksgiving Day

Intermediate Skate Skiing-
6:00PM Mondays | Class begins Nov. 22
For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

Due to COVID-19 and CDC recommendations, class sizes are limited to just 10 participants. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost**: $80 for a 4-week session (1 lesson per week).
**This does not include NSCF membership fee.

**Current membership in the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is now required to participate in all NSCF-sanctioned programs.
