Registration

  • For people with absolutely no experience skiing. It is recommended you register for novice classic before taking beginning classic ski lessons.
  • For people with very little experience cross country skiing. It is recommended you register for beginning classic before taking skate ski lessons.
  • For people with very little experience cross country skiing. It is recommended you register for beginning classic before taking skate ski lessons.
  • For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).
  • For people who are already comfortable classic skiing. It is recommended that you take beginning classic skiing before learning to skate ski.
  • For those wanting to focus on improving technique. Participants should have completed the beginning class at least once and feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain, especially hills with skate skis.

NSCF Adult Lessons Session I

What: Adult Cross Country Skiing Lessons
Who: Anyone ages 15 & Up. All abilities are welcome.

When: November 10, 2022 to December 14, 2022. See below for full class schedule. Cost: $100*
*This does not include NSCF membership fee.
Current membership in the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is now required to participate in all NSCF-sanctioned programs. To register for Adult Lessons, you must be logged in to the website and have a current membership with the NSCF. Student rates are available for those 18 and under. Session I Class Schedule:

All classes take place at Birch Hill.
Classes are one hour in length and run for five weeks.

Novice Classic Skiing- For people with no experience skiing. It is recommended that you take the novice class before taking classic skiing.

2:00PM Sundays| Class begins Nov. 13

Beginning Classic Skiing- For people with very little experience skiing.
No formal training and/or have only skied a handful of times.
It is recommended that you take beginning classic skiing before learning to skate ski.

2:00PM Sundays| Class begins Nov. 13
6:00PM Tuesdays| Class begins Nov. 15


Intermediate Classic Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

6:00PM Mondays | Class begins Nov. 14

Beginning Skate Skiing- For people who are already comfortable classic skiing. It is recommended that you take beginning classic skiing before learning to skate ski.

6:00PM Thursdays| Class begins Nov. 10

No class on Thanksgiving Day.


Intermediate Skate Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).
