Registration

  • For people with very little experience cross country skiing. It is recommended you register for beginning classic before taking skate ski lessons.
  • For people with very little experience cross country skiing. It is recommended you register for beginning classic before taking skate ski lessons.
  • For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).
  • For those wanting to learn a new technique who are already comfortable classic skiing. Participants should have completed the beginning classic class at least once and feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain, especially hills.
  • For those already comfortable skate skiing who would like to improve their technique. Participants should have completed the beginner skate class at least once and feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain.

Who: Anyone ages 15 & Up. All abilities are welcome.

Current membership in the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is now required to participate in all NSCF-sanctioned programs. To register for Adult Lessons, you must be logged in to the website and have a current membership with the NSCF. Student rates are available for those 18 and under. Session III Class Schedule:

All classes take place at Birch Hill.
Classes are one hour in length and run for four weeks.

Beginning Classic Skiing- For people with very little experience skiing.
No formal training and/or have only skied a handful of times.
It is recommended that you take beginning classic skiing before learning to skate ski.

6:00PM Tuesdays| Class begins February 7
2:00PM Sundays| Class begins February 12

 Intermediate Classic Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

6:00PM Mondays | Class begins February 6

Beginning Skate Skiing- For people who are comfortable with classic skiing and ready to learn a more technical form of skiing. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

6:00PM Thursdays | Class begins February 9


Intermediate Skate Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

6:00PM Wednesdays | Class begins February 8
