Registration

  • This class is held at Birch hill and is meant for those who have no cross-country skiing experience or have never had any instruction to learn the basic techniques. The goal is to get participants comfortable outside and on skis. Classes begin Nov.17th.
  • This class will be held at Birch Hill and is meant for those with very little classic skiing experience or those who have never had any formal instruction. This class will learn additional techniques on varied terrain so you can be more confident on any trail. Classes begin Nov.17th.
  • This class is held at UAF and is meant for those with very little classic skiing experience or those who have never had any formal instruction. This class will learn additional techniques on varied terrain so you can be more confident on any trail. Classes begin Nov.19th.
  • This class will be held at Birch Hill and is meant for those with very little classic skiing experience or those who have never had any formal instruction. This class will learn additional techniques on varied terrain so you can be more confident on any trail. Classes begin Nov. 14th.
  • This class will be held at UAF and is meant for those already comfortable classic skiing who would like to improve their technique. Participants should have completed the beginner classic class or have skied enough on their own to feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain. Classes begin Nov. 20th.
  • This class will be held at Birch Hill and is meant for those who are new to skate skiing. Classes begin Nov. 14th.
  • This class will be held at Birch Hill and is meant for those already comfortable skate skiing who would like to improve their technique. Participants should have completed the beginner skate class or have skied enough on their own to feel comfortable and confident on varying terrain. Classes begin Nov. 20th.

Who: Anyone ages 15 & Up. All abilities are welcome.

Current membership in the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is now required to participate in all NSCF-sanctioned programs. To register for Adult Lessons, you must be logged in to the website and have a current membership with the NSCF. Student rates are available for those 18 and under. Session I Class Schedule:

Classes are one hour in length and run for five weeks.

Novice Classic Skiing- For those who have no cross-country skiing experience. The goal is to get participants comfortable outside and on skis.
2 - 3pm Sundays @ Birch Hill • Class begins Nov. 17th  

Beginner Classic Skiing- For those who have very little experience with cross country skiing. This class will learn additional techniques on varied terrain so you can be more confident on any trail.
6 - 7pm Thursdays @ Birch Hill • Class begins Nov. 14th
2 - 3pm Sundays @ Birch Hill • Class begins Nov. 17th
6 - 7pm Tuesdays @ UAF • Class begins Nov. 19th

Intermediate Classic Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).
6 - 7pm Wednesdays @ UAF • Class begins Nov. 20th

Beginner Skate Skiing- For those who have very little to no experience with skate skiing. Ideally, participants will have tried classic skiing before taking a skate lesson. 
6 - 7pm Thursdays @ Birch Hill • Class begins Nov. 14th (no class on Thanksgiving Day)
